headspace Albany awarded

Albany

headspace Albany received the award for Community Event/Group at the City of Albany Australia Day awards on January 26th.

The award was for the amazing Mad Hatters Tea Party event that headspace Albany have been coordinating for the past 5 years.  The event is now a staple in the Albany community with over 15 services and community groups coming together to help reduce stigma and improve conversations about mental health.

The event attracts people of all ages and is a showcase for services who alone would not be able to run large scale awareness events.  The event also promoted local youth musicians and artists and sporting and community groups that are passionate about mental health.

Community Engagement Officer Natalie Jarvis and headspace Albany Manager Andrew Wenzel were in attendance at the award ceremony to receive the medal, citation and certificate.
